Technolgy news, trends, and history are intriquing to me. We’ve come a long way since the early days. So here is some fantastic news for college students including high-school students as well. Microsoft is giving us DreamScape for free! This is an entire suite of professional tools so that creative minds can build the next city of adventures for the whole world to enjoy.
- Microsoft Gives Students Access to Technical Software at No Charge to Inspire Success and Make a Difference
- SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition
- Visual Studio 2005 and 2008 Professional Editions
- XNA Game Studio 2.0 wtih a 12-month free Academic membership in the XNA Creators Club
- Expression Web, Blend, Design and Expression Media

“Students should check http://channel8.msdn.com for regularly posted updates to see when Microsoft DreamSpark will be available to them” (Microsoft Gives Students Access to Technical Software…)
Think about Club Penguin and Webkinz, two of the most popular social clubs available for three-year-olds and up. Club Penguin caught the attention of Walt Disney Productions who gave the creators a big chunk of change just for the fun of ownership: August 1, 2007.
Thank you, Microsoft!
Enjoy!
